How to Use These Worksheets
Start with the vowels
Rovás gives every Hungarian sound its own letter, so the vowels — including á, é, ö, ő, ü, and ű — are the fastest way in. A learner who knows the fourteen vowels can already sound out short words. Work through those rows first, then move to the consonants.
Trace first, then write from memory
Each row gives four faint runes to trace and three empty boxes. The tracing builds the muscle memory for the stroke order; the empty boxes are the real test. If a letter comes out wrong, go back and trace that row again rather than pushing on.
Remember it runs right to left
Rovás was carved from right to left, which feels backwards at first for anyone used to the Latin alphabet. Practising single letters is direction-neutral, but as soon as learners write whole words, have them start at the right edge of the page.
Finish with their own name
Nothing makes the alphabet stick like writing your own name in it. Once a learner knows the letters, send them to the keyboard or the translator to see their name in Rovás, then have them copy it by hand.
